Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki today called “bureaucratic centralism” the European Commission’s criminal proceedings against his country after the Polish Constitutional Court challenged the rule of European law and the powers of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
According to the Polish Prime Minister, the EC decision shows that “the trend towards the development of democratic centralism, bureaucratic centralism in Brussels, is unfortunately advancing, but must be stopped.”
“I strongly disagree with the EC decision,” Moravetsky added.
“I believe that more and more EU member states see that, after all, there must be a limit of competence somewhere, what the EU can decide and what the Polish state can decide,” said the Polish prime minister.
