According to the contract signed on Monday, the M903 launchers will be manufactured at a steel plant in Stalowa Wola, Poland, and are expected to be delivered to the Polish army between 2027 and 2029.
“This agreement strengthens Poland’s security,” Defense Minister Władysław Kosińak-Kamish told reporters after signing the $1.23 billion (€1.13 billion) deal.
Poland has announced that it will spend more than 4% of GDP on defense this year.
On Friday, Poland signed an agreement with the United States to buy hundreds of AIM-120C AMRAAM air-to-air missiles.
According to Polish media, in the coming days, Warsaw and Washington will sign another defense contract for the purchase of 96 US-made combat helicopters “AH-64E Apache” worth more than 9 billion dollars.
Last year Washington gave the green light to the agreement, which will allow Poland to replace its fleet of Mi-24 helicopters from the Soviet era.
