Poland has signed a deal to buy £4 billion worth of anti-aircraft missiles and equipment from the British arm of defense supplier MBDA.
The weapon system will be part of Poland’s air defense program and will be able to fire missiles against fighter planes and cruise missiles from a distance of over 40 kilometers.
The deal was announced by the British Ministry of Defence, which says the partnership will strengthen Poland’s air defenses and contribute to Europe’s security during Russia’s war against Ukraine. According to the British authorities, this is the biggest commercial agreement ever between Great Britain and Poland.
– This is a new and important step forward in the historic defense relations with Poland, says Defense Minister Grant Shapps.
