Poland has signed an agreement to buy missiles and launch pads for £1.9 billion from the UK arm of arms manufacturer MBDA.
It concerns 44 launch pads of the Ilauncher type and hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles of the CAMM type, as well as associated equipment, according to MBDA.
They call the purchase the largest within short-range air defense among European NATO countries. The purchase price is just over NOK 25 billion.
The agreement is well received in the UK.
– I am delighted that the UK and Poland’s deep and historic defense relationship is taking new steps forward with the signing of the largest British defense export agreement ever, says Defense Minister Ben Wallace in a statement.
