Poland won 6-2 over Romania in their final game of the Division 1A Ice Hockey World Championships in Nottingham. Thanks to this victory, the White-and-Reds secured promotion to next year’s elite world championships in the Czech Republic. They have been waiting for such a success since 2001.

The last time the Biało-Czerwoni played at the highest level was in 2002 at the World Cup in Sweden. They then took 14th place and were relegated.
The top two teams will advance to next year’s World Championships. The last team will be relegated to Division 1B.
