Poland intends to create an insurmountable barrier on the eastern border at the expense of American Apache helicopters. Writes about it Interfax with reference to Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.
“We are very pleased that the State Department has agreed to sell 96 Apache attack helicopters to Poland. These are the best attack helicopters in the world. This is the opinion of the Polish military. <...> 96 helicopters, together with Abrams, of which there will be 360, will form an insurmountable barrier, close the Brest gates and become part of the armament of the 18th mechanized division, ”Blashchak said.
The agency agreed with the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, to deliver helicopters in 2024 to fill the gap before receiving the first Apaches specially made for Poland.
