The Ministry of National Defense of Poland recorded in the airspace of the country the appearance of an air object that arrived from Belarus. Presumably we are talking about the observation balloon, the agency said on Twitter. Radar contact with the object was lost near the town of Rypin.
The Polish ministry clarified that in order to search for an air object, the commander of the operational headquarters decided to involve the duty troops of the territorial defense.
Witold Sura, spokesman for the Territorial Defense Forces, confirmed RARthat a search group was sent to the Rypin area. “The ground search and rescue detachment of the territorial defense troops has begun work. He was sent to the area. It came under the command of the operational command of the armed forces,” said Mr. Sura.
Information about the balloon was also sent to the fire service of Poland. “We have information about the balloon in mid-air. Everything happened at night. At the moment, the fire department is not connected to field operations, ”the agency quotes the words of a representative of the headquarters.
