From next Saturday, stores in shopping centers will reopen in Poland. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced the planned step to support the economy before Christmas. The Polish government previously ordered the closure of some shops, schools, as well as theaters, cinemas and museums as of November 7 due to an increase in the number of new coronavirus infections.
“There is one condition – the discipline of every store, shopping center or furniture store. If it is not, the shops will be closed, “Morawiecki said at a press conference. “This decision can save hundreds of thousands of jobs, and that’s why,” he added.
Morawiecki also clarified that the schools would remain closed until Christmas. At the same time, he urged the people of Poland to spend the holiday season only with their closest relatives and not to travel.
