One of the key questions currently in the head of the Polish national team, Paulo Sousa, is “will Piotr Zieliński be able to play in the qualifying match against England?”. The 27-year-old midfielder suffered a contusion of his right thigh; this painful injury meant that the footballer could not be available for the coach in the matches against Albania and San Marino. And although the medical staff is in a boil, according to our findings – the situation of the assistant is not colorful.
Due to an injury to Zieliński’s thigh, two matches of the World Cup qualifiers have already been missed: against Albania and San Marino. At the end of the week, a decision was made that on Monday the footballer would run onto the pitch and take part in activities at the Legia Warszawa stadium. It happened and the player exercised individually under the supervision of physiotherapists Paweł Bambra and Marcin Bator.
– Piotrek actually trained, but at this point I can only say that there is a fight against time … – Jakub Kwiatkowski, spokesman for the team, admitted Interia on Monday evening.
According to our findings, the chances of Zieliński’s performance against England are currently small. – A miracle would have to happen – we heard from one of the team members. The biggest problem is the incomplete range of motion resulting from crushing the 27-year-old’s muscle. Although the footballer works with the medical staff, the situation is not optimistic.
The twenty-three team for a match against the English must be reported by the Polish Football Association by the end of Tuesday. So just after midnight it will be clear whether the staff gives Zieliński any chance to perform, or will not risk the player’s health and send him back to the stands.
