On Tuesday evening (February 21, 2023), a 63-year-old from Ludwigshafen initially received an SMS, supposedly from his son. Under a pretext, the chat continued via the WhatsApp platform. The unknown scammers managed to get the man to transfer money twice. During a personal meeting with his son on February 22, 2023, the fraud was discovered. The total damage was over 3,000 euros.
