This morning, September 30th, 2021, at 7.45 a.m., a patrol from the Ruchheim police motorway station on the A650 noticed a Bentley car on the A650 shortly before the Bruchwiesenstraße junction, which was driving unsafely. At the same time, a road user reported that he had observed a Bentley on the B9 in the direction of Ludwigshafen, which was driving in a snaking manner and had rammed the crash barriers. The car has meanwhile switched from the B9 to the A650. The police officers diverted the vehicle from the highway and checked the driver in the city of Ludwigshafen. The Bentley showed fresh accident damage on both sides of the vehicle. The damage on the right side is likely to have occurred when the crash barriers were rammed. As for the damage to the left side of the vehicle, the 38-year-old driver claimed that he had been hit by a truck on the way. The man, who was clearly intoxicated, was offered a breathalyser test, which showed a blood alcohol level of 2.95.

A blood sample was taken from the man at the police station, his driver’s license was secured, and investigations into endangering road traffic were initiated. The investigation into the accident damage to the left side of the vehicle is ongoing.

The Ruchheim police motorway station is asking for witnesses: Who saw the Bentley coming from Mutterstadt via the B9 to the A650 this morning between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.? Please send relevant information to the police motorway station Ruchheim06237 / 933-0 or [email protected]
