A 66-year-old woman from the Bad Dürkheim district was the victim of a fraud on Monday. She was contacted by a previously unknown person via Whatsapp, who pretended to be her daughter and asked for a bank transfer of around 2,000 euros. The woman sent her off, believing she was helping her daughter. It was only when her daughter told her parents at a later time that her scam was exposed. The police are now investigating the fraud.

Please be careful if you receive these or similar messages. Don’t transfer money without consulting your family. Contact them on the phone number you know or, if possible, in person!
