The police in Melle were alerted to a traffic accident on Friday evening at around 5:50 p.m. via an automatic emergency call system (e-call). A 24-year-old drove along Georgsmarienhütter Straße in the direction of Georgsmarienhütte with her passenger (20 years old) in a VW Golf. Due to blocking tires, the Quakenbrücker came off the road in a curve to the right. The car overturned and landed on its roof on a tree stump. When the officers arrived, the fire brigade, rescue service and emergency doctor were already on site and taking care of the seriously but not life-threateningly injured occupants. They were then taken to a hospital in Osnabrück. The fire brigade illuminated the scene of the accident for the recording, and the road was closed for about 1.5 hours. The vehicle was totaled and was recovered by a tow truck.
