1. Police catch alleged graffiti sprayer thanks to attentive witnesses – Offenbach
(jm) Thanks to an attentive witness, police officers provisionally arrested a 22-year-old from Offenbach early Thursday morning. At around 4:25 a.m., the alleged graffiti sprayer is said to have sprayed lettering in different colors on the wall of an apartment building on Sprendlinger Landstrasse. He was observed by the witness, who alerted the police and initially held the man. Apparently, upon seeing the patrol car, the suspect fled by jumping on his bicycle and cycling away. The officers followed him and temporarily arrested him in the immediate vicinity on Darmstädter Strasse. The Offenbacher had to go to the police station and was released after the police measures. The investigations are now being carried out by the Sprayer department in Hanau, which can be reached by other witnesses on 06181 9010-0.

3. Manhole cover thrown onto the road – six cars damaged – Mühlheim
(aa) After a dangerous intervention in road traffic late on Wednesday evening, around 11:10 p.m., on federal highway 448, at least six cars were damaged. Fortunately, there was no accident and the drivers were unharmed. Unknown persons had thrown two manhole covers over the parapet onto the B 448 from the pedestrian bridge (Würzburger Straße/Lämmerspieler Weg), and the impact had already damaged the road surface. The cars drove over the bars in the dark, damaging the tires and wheel rims and partially the body and underbody. The police estimate the damage at a good 70,000 euros. The police in Offenbach are asking for information on 069 8098-5100.

1. Alleged empties thief arrested in the act: where else did you notice the blue Vito? – Bad Soden-Salmunster
(lei) Thanks to the active commitment and the help of supermarket employees, Bad Orber police officers were able to temporarily arrest a 41-year-old suspected thief on Thursday night. The criminal police are now investigating him on suspicion of theft of vegetable deposit boxes. According to the findings so far, the suspect had initially gone to work late Wednesday evening with an as yet unknown accomplice at another branch of the grocery chain. In Bad Sodener Strasse, the duo had apparently loaded several of the empty boxes that were stored at a loading ramp into a blue Mercedes Vito shortly before. Then, around 11:40 p.m., the vehicle with a Cologne license plate also drove up to the loading ramp of the “Am Palmusacker” branch. The 41-year-old, this time alone, got out and is said to have provided several of the boxes for removal. The store employees then confronted him and held him until the police arrived. Shortly thereafter, the handcuffs clicked and the man from Cologne had to go to the police station. After the officers had secured not only the Vito but also other evidence and all police measures to secure the criminal proceedings had been completed, the man was released again. The police already have good information about the accomplice, which is now being examined further. In addition to the current thefts, the investigators attribute other similar cases to the duo, some of which are more local – here, too, some police investigations will have to be carried out. In this context, the police are asking: Where else has the blue Vito been noticed in the past? The officials receive information on 06181 100-123.
