1. Police car collides with Mercedes: 86-year-old injured – Obertshausen
(lei) In a collision between a police car and a Mercedes on Wednesday evening at the so-called Gathof junction, the 86-year-old driver of the Mercedes was slightly injured. He was taken to a clinic for further treatment. On the way to a police operation in Hanau, the sprinter, which was manned by six officers and was traveling on federal highway 448 in the direction of the Tannenmühlkreisel, collided around 7:20 p.m. with the flashing lights and siren on at the intersection with Schönbornstrasse with the senior’s C-Class from Darmstadt. The Darmstadt man, coming from the direction of Leipziger Straße, then broke through a palisade wall of an adjacent property as a result of the crash with his station wagon and came to a standstill there. The material damage caused is estimated at around 17,000 euros; both cars were no longer drivable. The exact circumstances of the accident must now be determined. Witnesses are asked to call the police in Heusenstamm on 06104 6908-0.
2. Trickster was busy in the Friedrich-List-Strasse – Neu-Isenburg
(jm) A trick thief pretended to be an employee of a service provider on Tuesday morning on Friedrich-List-Strasse when he rang the doorbell of an elderly woman. The pensioner let the man in at around 11:30 a.m. Allegedly he wanted to check the landline and television connections. While the 30 to 40 year old, about 1.80 meter tall and stronger man was looking around for the alleged connections in all the rooms, he stole a chain from a jewelry box. When the elderly lady noticed the theft, the perpetrator fled with the loot. The man had black hair with a parting. He wore a brown sweater, a black jacket and also spoke High German. Residents or passers-by who have seen suspicious people or vehicles in the Friedrich-List-Straße area are asked to call 069 8098-1234.
3. 32-year-old robbed: Kripo asks for witnesses – Langen
(lei) About 35 years old, about 1.75 meters tall, normal build, wearing a dark headscarf, a black face mask and dressed completely in black: This is the description of a robber who killed a 32-year-old man in Triftstrasse on Wednesday evening robbed. The stranger approached his victim from behind at number 6 around 10:30 p.m., suddenly hit him in the face several times and asked him to hand over all his valuables. After the 32-year-old, who had fallen to the ground in the meantime, had handed his purse to the perpetrator, he hurriedly left in the direction of the train station. The victim had to be treated in a hospital for bruises on his face. Who can now give more information about the robber? – that’s what the criminal investigation department in Offenbach asks and asks for a message on 069 8098-1234.
4. Shock callers get nothing: be skeptical! – Langen/Dreieich/Egelsbach
(as) Several shock calls were received by older people in the Offenbach district on Tuesday afternoon. The crooks posed as supposed police officers to the seniors and pretended that a family member had caused a serious car accident with fatalities. The relatives were in police custody and could only be released on bail of tens of thousands of euros, the scammers claimed. Fortunately, none of the victims fell for the well-known scam and did the only right thing: They called the police. The Kripo is now investigating and advises increased caution when alleged police officers call and demand money. The real police never ask for cash or valuables over the phone. When calling, you should also remember that scammers can manipulate your phone number. One cannot therefore rely on the caller’s number appearing on the telephone’s display. “Always be skeptical when asked about financial circumstances,” advises the police.
5. Hit-and-run: Young moped driver slightly injured in a collision – Hainburg
(lei) After a hit-and-run on Tuesday morning in the Kurt-Schumacher-Straße / Theodor-Heuss-Straße junction, the police are looking for a 30 to 40-year-old driver with short hair and a thin stature. The stranger, who was traveling on Kurt-Schumacher-Straße, had given way to a 17-year-old motorcyclist coming from the right at around 9.25 a.m. The young man lost control as a result of the collision, fell over the handlebars and landed in a bush by the side of the road. He sustained minor injuries, which were treated at the hospital. The polluter’s car is said to have been a black Opel Corsa. The car, which is likely to have been damaged on the rear right fender, then followed the course of the street on Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse over the bend there and drove away without permission. Property damage of around 400 euros was caused to the moped. The police in Seligenstadt are now asking for further information about the driver who caused the accident and his car (telephone: 06182 8930-0).
6. Flash checks at the end of the extension: 135 vehicles too fast – Autobahn 661 / Egelsbach
(lei) On average, every one and a half minutes, the radar device triggered, which officers of the traffic inspection of the police headquarters in south-east Hesse positioned on Wednesday morning at the end of the A 661 near Egelsbach in order to punish road users who were speeding. In the period from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the traffic specialists carried out appropriate speed checks in the 70 km/h zone there. After three hours, a total of 135 violations were recorded. Of these, eleven drivers now have to reckon with a driving ban. The fastest vehicle passed the measuring point at 148 kilometers per hour and was therefore more than twice as fast as allowed. In addition to the drivers who were too brisk, the officials also uncovered the following violations: A 22-year-old employee of a sanitary company, who drove his vehicle and trailer to the control point, obviously did not have the required driver’s license in view of the total weight. The class B driver’s license that was presented was no longer sufficient for the combination’s total permissible mass of over 3.5 tons. He and his boss are now facing reports of driving or allowing driving without a license. The team was not allowed to continue. In the further course of the control, a BMW 5 with French short-term license plates was also stopped. Problem here: The car was neither registered nor insured. The law enforcement officers also had to complain about a Daimler with a red German dealer license plate. Here they found out that the pair of license plates had been misused, i.e. apparently borrowed from another person. These two drivers were also forbidden to continue driving and the respective license plate pairs were seized. Corresponding criminal proceedings have been initiated.

1. Burglars steal jewelry – Hanau/Mittelbuchen
(lei) On Wednesday evening, unknown persons entered a single-family house on Wilhelm-Fischer-Strasse (number 20) and stole jewelry. Between 6:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., the intruders climbed over the garden fence and smashed two windows to get into the house. After searching through numerous pieces of furniture inside and finding what they were looking for, they fled. Witness tips are accepted on 06181 100-123.
2. Robbery in a retirement home: Wrong meter reader stole cash – Steinau an der Straße
(lei) A 30 to 35-year-old and noticeably small man (about 1.60 meters tall) violently stole cash from a resident of a retirement home on Wednesday morning in “Viehhof” street. At around 8:50 a.m., the unidentified man, dressed in blue sweatpants and a blue sweater, entered the condominium and rang the victim’s doorbell. When the woman opened the door, the criminal, who had a clipboard under his arm, posed as an employee of an energy company and said that he had to read the meter reading. Moments later, he pushed the victim aside and purposefully went into the apartment. After taking the purse out of the victim’s handbag, the robber, who spoke German without an accent, fled in an unknown direction. The criminal police in Gelnhausen is now looking for witnesses and is asking for further information about the perpetrator (telephone: 06051 827-0).
