On Saturday afternoon, August 3, 2024, a police patrol in the city noticed a moped (scooter) driving around that still had a black insurance license plate. Since March of this year, however, the color blue has been used for current insurance. The officers then stopped the 59-year-old scooter driver and checked him and his vehicle. The man from Salzderhelden was actually not aware that he had to take out new insurance for his moped every year. An investigation was initiated against him for violating the Compulsory Insurance Act and he was prohibited from continuing to ride his scooter until he took out new insurance.
