At around 9:00 a.m. this morning there was a rear-end collision on the B96 near Weisdin.
Police report – Collision in the forest area near B96/Weisdin leads to extensive property damage
A traffic accident occurred near B96/Weisdin after a 60-year-old driver apparently tried to turn onto a forest path. A 39-year-old driver who was directly behind him was unable to stop in time and collided with the older man’s car. The accident caused both vehicles to slide into the ditch.
The accident vehicles were so badly damaged as a result of the impact that they could no longer be moved under their own power and had to be removed by a recovery service. According to initial police estimates, the property damage caused amounts to around 25,000 euros.
Fortunately, there were no injuries to report; Both people involved in the accident, who are German nationals, remained unharmed. Despite the incident, the road remained open to traffic and there were no major traffic disruptions. The police have started an investigation to clarify the exact cause of the accident.
