With great relief, the police managed to put an end to the search for the missing evaluator on Sunday evening. A resident called the police around 6:40 pm to report a defenseless elderly man standing in front of his home in Düsseldorf-Ludenberg. A personal data check later confirmed that this person was the 81-year-old evaluator after police ransacked them with “mantrailer” dogs and a police helicopter on Sunday.

Düsseldorf police officers took care of the man before colleagues from the Ratingen police station took the elder back to his wife in Ratingen-Ost at around 7:20 pm. Thankfully, Ratingen’s man was fine and didn’t need medical attention.

According to the current state of the investigation, Ratingen’s man got lost while walking and then took the train without finding his way back.

The Mettmann District Police Authority has canceled the original search for missing persons and is asking the media not to use the assessor’s previously published photo for reporting for data protection reasons. At the same time, the police would like to thank all those who took part in the search for the missing evaluator.
