After a 20-year-old woman became the victim of a sexual assault on the Reeperbahn on Sunday night, the police are looking for witnesses.
According to the information available so far, the as yet unknown perpetrator approached the woman from behind and touched her inappropriately. The 20-year-old then physically defended herself and one of her companions and a witness who came along tried to hold the perpetrator. However, he was able to free himself and flee in the direction of Große Freiheit street. All those involved remained unharmed.
The victim then went to the nearby Davidwache police station, whereupon the officers immediately initiated search measures for the fugitive, which, however, did not lead to his arrest.
The perpetrator is described as follows:
– 30 to 35 years old – 170 to 175 cm tall – normal build – “southern” appearance – birthmark in the nose/cheek area – dark hair, short on the sides and longer on top – dark full beard – dressed in a grey top with a hood with a red border
The specialist department for sexual crimes (LKA 42) has begun investigations and is asking the witness who rushed to the 20-year-old’s aid and was wearing a light blue T-shirt in particular to contact the police.
