This morning there was a traffic accident between a lorry and a 76-year-old pedestrian in the Hammerbrook district of Hamburg, in which the woman was fatally injured. The Traffic Accident Service South (VD 4) took over the investigation.
According to the VUD’s findings so far, a man had driven his truck on Amsinckstraße in the direction of the city and stopped at the traffic lights at the Högerdamm intersection. When he left, he grabbed the 76-year-old – she had previously trampled the road for an unknown reason – and dragged her several meters with him. As a result, the elders sustained fatal injuries.
In addition to the rescuers, a fire brigade pastor, a 3D scanner, the “Libelle” police helicopter and an expert for recording the traffic accident are also deployed at the scene of the accident.
Amsinckstraße will remain closed towards out of town until further notice. Traffic from the city center will be diverted via Nordkanalstraße and Heidenkampsweg. Traffic towards the city center is currently unaffected by the closures.
