During the night from Friday May 20, 2022 to Saturday May 21, 2022, several parked vehicles were scratched in the Karlstrasse area in Freiburg-Neuburg and Freiburg-Herdern.
So far, the police have information on 25 damaged vehicles, some with considerable damage over the entire surface of the vehicle. Political symbols were found on four vehicles: “swastika” and “Z”. Overall, the property damage will probably be in the high five-digit range.
This is in line with other series of crimes in this area in the recent past, which presumably refer to the Ukraine war. And in fact, one injured party reported online to the police (Internet watch of the Baden-Württemberg police force) that he had been affected by a series with this connection for the second time in a short period of time.
The Freiburg-Nord police station (Tel.: 0761 882-4221) has taken over the investigation and, in cooperation with the responsible department of the criminal police, is looking for other victims and possible witnesses to the crime who may have made suspicious observations in the Freiburg districts of Neuburg, Herder and Zahringen did.
