On July 10, 2022, at around 11:20 a.m., a 52-year-old motorcyclist drove on the K4990 coming from Raitenbuch in the direction of Lenzkirch. According to the current status of the investigation, it is assumed that the driver of the vehicle overtook a car driving in front of him in the curve area and overlooked the fact that at this time a car was approaching on the opposite lane. To avoid a head-on collision, he swerved to the right. The person who caused the accident also tried to avoid a collision by evasive maneuvers to the right, but was unsuccessful. The two vehicles grazed, resulting in significant damage to the left side of the victim’s car. The person who caused the accident was unable to stop his motorcycle and fell. The person who caused the accident and his passenger sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries. They were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance.
Property damage of around 7,500 euros was caused to the vehicles involved.
A preliminary investigation was initiated against the person responsible for the accident. Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact the police in Titisee-Neustadt on 07651 93356-0.
