On Saturday afternoon, August 6, 2022, at around 3:10 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on the L 104. A 25-year-old car driver drove the L 104 from Rheinhausen in the direction of Rust. When he turned left onto the sports field of a sports club, the 25-year-old apparently overlooked an oncoming car.
The 33-year-old driver of the oncoming car swerved to avoid a collision and crashed head-on into a bridge railing.
He and his 24-year-old passenger were seriously injured. A requested rescue helicopter brought the seriously injured woman to a Freiburg clinic. The 33-year-old driver was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
