“Pokémon-Themed Streets to Hit Las Vegas: Jigglypuff, Squirtle, Snorlax, Charmander, and Charizard Named!”

And it is that recently it has been announced that, in Las Vegas, specifically from Serenity Placea neighborhood in Henderson, Nevada, seems to have been expanding in recent years and new streets have been created… named after Pokémon.

According to information shared by KLAS 8 News (via Polygon), The new wave of home construction around Las Vegas has generated a lot of interest in new street names, and the uptown developer wanted to give it a youthful, family-friendly feel.

According to Andrea Miller, construction manager for Harmony Homesthe process for naming streets is very complicated due to the revision of the names, however, with the help of his children, who are fans of Pokémon, this influenced the decision to name the streets similar to those of the franchise.

So far, the confirmed names for the new lanes are: Jigglypuff, Squirtle, Snorlax, Charmander, and Charizard. Miller says that many people of all ages are delighted with this idea.

This isn’t the first time Pokémon names have ended in unusual places. In 2021, scientists decided to name three newly discovered Australian beetle species after the legendary Pokémon birds Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos due to their rarity.
