The next pair of Pokémon games – called Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet – will launch on November 18 on the Nintendo Switch. That was confirmed by Nintendo on Wednesday.

Along with the release date, Nintendo unveiled a new trailer for the games, with more details on what players can expect from a new generation of Pokémon.
Open world and collaborative games
The new trailer – which you see at the top of the article – shows glimpses of the large and open world players will have fun in. This world can be explored alone, or with up to three friends via the game’s multiplayer.
Furthermore, Nintendo showed off the two legendary beasts introduced to this Pokémon generation. These are called Koraidon and Miraidon and as usual they each get to decorate their game cover for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet respectively.

In addition to introducing new monsters – such as the recently unveiled Pawmi, Lechonk and Smoliv – the games also tweak the fixed professor formula a bit. For the first time, players will meet different professors depending on which game they choose.
In Scarlet, Professor Sada is to study Pokémon, and in Violet, it is Porfessor Turo who leads. The player’s rival, Nemona, is admittedly the same in both games.
