Pokémon HOME became a great tool that cannot be missing from the Pokémon trainers’ application catalog, since thanks to it they had access to a renewed pocket monster storage system, apart from allowing them to send them from Pokémon GO a Pokémon Sword & Shield Y Pokémon Let’s GO, Pikachu! & Let’s GO, Eevee!. Unfortunately, today we have bad news for many users.

The Pokémon Company has just revealed through its official Japanese page that a new update for the application will be available on an unspecified day in June.

The bad news is that starting with this update, Pokémon HOME will no longer be compatible with various mobile devices and operating systems.

Specifically, The Pokémon Company will stop supporting the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 models, as well as the Android 5 and iOS 9, 10 and 11 operating systems.

What will happen to my data saved in Pokémon HOME?

We remind you that Pokémon HOME can work on mobiles without the need for a Nintendo Account, so the information is linked to the device.

Because of this, if you want to change your device to continue using Pokémon HOME and keep your Pokémon and account information, it will be necessary to link it to a Nintendo Account first.

This will allow you to use the same Pokémon HOME account on another device (regardless of whether it is iOS or Android), since the login would be linked to the Nintendo Account. We also remind you that to use Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch it is necessary to link it to a Nintendo Account (it is recommended that it be the same on Switch and on mobile phones in order to share information).

In case you missed it: Game Freak warned that it would ban cheaters who misuse Pokémon HOME.

Since the information is linked to the account and not to the device, you should also know that you will not lose the Pokémon you have stored or your premium subscription plan (if you have purchased it); Instead, you can keep it and transfer it to another device through the Nintendo Account.

If your mobile device would soon not be compatible, but you have already linked the application with a Nintendo Account and this with Nintendo Switch, then you can use the version of Pokémon HOME on the console without problem. However, take into account that you will not be able to use all the functions of the service, as there are exclusive features for the mobile version, such as the GTS exchange.
