Pokémon GO: Today raid lesson with Suicune

In Pokémon GO today, February 8, the raid lesson with Suicune is running. With the first players this didn’t work properly and the start times were missed.

What kind of event is that? Usually, raid hours in Pokémon GO run on Wednesday evenings. But this time Niantic has launched a special event that should give you all the chance to win legendary raids with Suicune.

However, the countries where the raid hour was already running report wrong start times. So whether we will start on time today remains to be seen.

What happens today on February 8th, 2021?

When does it start? As you already know from the raid hours, the event should start at 6:00 p.m. local time. For an hour you can then find many 5-raids with Suicune on the arenas.

From February 9th you will find new, legendary opponents in the arenas. The overview of all events and raid bosses in February 2021 in Pokémon GO.

New Zealand and Australia with wrong start times

What were the problems? At first the event started due to the time difference in New Zealand. But at 6:00 p.m. New Zealand time nothing of the raid hour could be seen. It then took about 20 minutes after the scheduled start for the Suicune raids to appear.

On reddit, user geocean writes “Niantic screwed it up again for New Zealand” and explains that Suicune only appeared at the arenas at 6:20 pm (via reddit).

There were similar problems for players in Australia. The event didn’t start too late, but too early. On the screenshot from user Cosmicmooshroom from Sydney you can see that at 5:43 p.m. many Suicune raids have been active for minutes. You can find the screenshot for this on reddit.

This is what players ask themselves: After these events, some trainers are now wondering whether the next raid hours will be on time and whether the Suicune raids will really take place in Germany at 6:00 p.m. today.
