What were the previous Research Advancement Rewards?
The Pokémon Encounter available for Research Breakthrough Rewards is available for a limited period of one or two months and changes on the first of the month at 3 PM EST. Usually it is a Legendary Pokémon or one of several Legendary Pokémon, but sometimes it will be a rare Pokémon with exclusive moves or even a Pokémon that has not been available before in Pokémon Go. These are all previous research breakthrough rewards.
January 2021
From January 1, 2021 at 3 p.m. EST to February 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. EST, the reward for advancing the investigation was Chansey *. It had a CP range of 490-537.
December 2020
From December 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST until Jan 1, 2021 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the rewards for research breakthroughs were Lapras * and Darumaka. Lapras had a CP range of 1076-1131 and Darumaka had a CP range of 576-618.
November 2020
From November 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST until Dec 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the reward for advancing the investigation went to Togetic. He had a CP range of 638-732.
October 2020
From October 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST until Nov 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the reward for research breakthroughs was Shedinja. He had a CP range of 131-168.
September 2020
From September 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST until October 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the reward for the advancement of the investigation was Alolan Raichu *. He had a CP range of 929-980.
August 2020
From August 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST until September 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the research breakthrough reward was neglected. It had a CP range of 549-588.
July 2020
From July 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST until Aug 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the research reward was Larvitar *. He had a CP range of 411-445.
June 2020
From June 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST until July 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the reward for the advancement of the research was Trapinch * with additional sweets. It had a CP range of 507-546.
May 2020
From May 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST until June 1, 2020 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the reward for the advancement of the investigation was Shinx * with additional sweets. He had a CP range of 343-375.
April 2020
From April 1, 2020 at 3pm EST to May 1, 2020 at 3pm EST, the Research Advancement Reward was Alolan Exeggutor * with a Stardust bonus. It had a CP range of 1233-1292.
March 2020
From March 1, 2020, at 3 p.m. EST to April 1, 2020, at 3 p.m. EST, the Research Advancement Reward was Ferroseed with additional stardust. He had a CP range of 370-403.
February 2020
From February 1, 2020 at 3pm EST to March 1, 2020 at 3pm EST, the Research Advancement Reward was Woobat with Bonus Candies. This was Woobat’s introduction to Pokémon Go. He had a CP range of 401-435.
January 2020
From January 1, 2020 at 3pm EST to February 1, 2020 at 3pm EST, the Research Breakthrough Reward was Lapras * with the exclusive Ice Shard and Ice Beam moveset. This Lapras had a potential CP range of 1076-1131.
November to December 2019
From November 1, 2019 at 3 PM EST to January 1, 2020 at 3 PM EST, the Research Breakthrough Reward was one of five Legendary Pokémon. Possible rewards included: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Kyogre, and Groudon. The CP ranges were:

From July 1, 2019 at 3 p.m. M. EST until September 1, 2019 at 3 p.m. M. EST, the Research Breakthrough Reward was one of four Legendary Pokémon. Possible rewards included: Latias, Latios, Groudon, and Kyogre. The CP ranges were:
