The raid lesson with Xerneas starts today, May 12th, in Pokémon GO. We’ll show you the counterattacks, information and for whom the event is worthwhile.
What is happening today Shortly before 6:00 p.m. you will find legendary raid eggs in almost all arenas, which will hatch around 6:00 p.m. Legendary raids are then active there for about an hour. Today’s event runs again with the legendary Pokémon from Generation 6, Xerneas.

The best counterattacks against Xerneas
This is effective: Xerneas is only of the Fee type. Accordingly, attacks of the Poison or Steel type against the Pokémon are effective. You will find a number of Pokémon in the game that can attack with attacks of these types. In the following table you will find the strongest attackers for this raid and information about which attacks the Pokémon should be able to master.

How many trainers do you need? If you have the optimal, fully strengthened top counterattacks, you can defeat Xerneas as a three. However, if you want to take full advantage of the raid lesson and do a lot of raids, we recommend groups that consist of at least 5 players. This way you can do the fights faster and you can make good use of the hour.
Does Xerneas exist as Shiny? No, the dazzling form of Xerneas has not yet been unlocked in Pokémon GO. The Shiny hunters have no chance during the raid hour to add Shiny Xerneas to their collection.
Who should participate in Xerneas raids?
The current problem with Xerneas is that the Pokémon has weak instant attacks. Because the existing attacks are not of the Fee type. This greatly devalues Xerneas as an attacker, which makes him currently uninteresting for raids.
Should Niantic give the Pokémon new, powerful attacks in the future, Xerneas could be interesting. Especially if you could learn this with instant TMs. But that is so far completely unclear.
For whom are the raids worthwhile? The raids are worthwhile for you if you do not yet have a Xerneas but would like to have one in your collection. If you want to speculate that Xerneas will receive powerful instant attacks from Niantic in the future, you can already collect sweets and strong specimens at the hour. However, it can be assumed that Xerneas will not appear in raids for the last time.
Yveltal then comes into play as the next legendary boss. Along with Xerneas and Zygarde, it forms an important trio in Pokémon history. There will be a big event to coincide with the release of the new Pokémon.
That’s why the Yveltal event with Team Rocket in Pokémon GO is really worth it. You shouldn’t miss the event if you want strong cryptos.
