Trainers in Latin America have a new reason to celebrate, as Pokémon GO is now available in Latin American Spanish. This exciting news was announced at a special presentation at CCXP’s Thunder Stage in Mexico City on May 5, where key employees from Niantic and The Pokémon Company International, with Pikachu on stage, gave a special video of celebration went on to announce the launch of support in Latin America. With this announcement, Pokémon GO is the first Pokémon game to introduce brand new vocabulary specific to LATAM, including item names and moves. Trainees will find that some names are new, while others honor the legacy of Latin American black animation.
Starting today, players will be able to have a unique experience in Latin American Spanish, immersing themselves even further in the world of Pokémon as they explore their cities and catch their Pokémon their favorite. Whether you are just starting your journey or are an experienced trainer, everyone is welcome to join this new adventure!
To celebrate this long-awaited news, a special in-game event will be held between May 5th and June 15th. During this time, trainers will be able to participate in special Temporary Area Research, earn bonuses, and get a chance to meet popular Pokémon that were first discovered in the Kanto region.
Players will be able to complete Field Quest tasks to find Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. In addition, they will have the opportunity to complete special tasks that provide Mega Energy for Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard, and Mega Blastoise, as well as candy for these Pokémon.
There will also be a Time Quest until June 15, 2024, which will reward items such as Star Fragments, Super Incubators, and Rare Candies, as well as encounters with Lapras and Snorlax. If trainers are lucky, they might even catch a shiny Pokémon!
In addition, Latin American Trainees will receive the following bonuses:
– Double hearts for your Pokémon companion
– The duration of the incense will be doubled
– daily surprise when you take GO Photo
To encourage newcomers to the sport in Latin America, the special “Weekend Rewards” Temporary Search will be available every weekend starting May 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. PDT until June 15, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. PDT. Trainees who complete this Temporary Quest each weekend will be rewarded with items such as Frambu Berries, Lantana Berries, Pinia Berries, Incense, Pokéballs and Super Balls. Tasks related to Temporary Research must be completed before they expire, and their rewards must be claimed by every Sunday at 8:00 PM (local time).
In addition, Limited Time Boxes will be available in the in-game store, with discounts of up to 70% to help Trainers equip themselves with essential items for their Pokémon journey.
