The evolutions of Eevee have always been unique in Pokémon GO, since they are very different from how they evolve in other titles. Here are the steps to evolve Sylveon.

When Pokémon Go launched in 2016, one of the biggest questions for fans of the franchise was how to get all three evolutions of Eeve. Since then, four additional evolutions from their respective generations have been added. This has left us with just one more Eeveelution for the 6th Gen Sylveon, but they have now been added to the game.
There are two ways to get Sylveon in Pokémon GO
Eevee’s evolutions have always been unique to Pokémon GO, since they are very different from how they evolve in other titles.
The original trio of Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon was random. Espeon and Umbreon required you to walk with an Eevee as your companion for a specific period of time and then it will evolve on a certain type of day.
Glaceon and Leafeon require special decoy modules to be active to evolve. Which leaves us with one more to go with the fairy type that is Sylveon from the Kalos region, which will begin to be available from Tuesday, May 25.
Like all Eevee evolutions, there are two methods to get Sylveon in Pokémon Go. The first is to give a specific name to guarantee an evolution to Sylveon, although this only works once.
Any other evolution of Sylveon will require a specific method which is definitely the one that involves the most so far.
First method to get Sylveon
- Select the Eevee you want to evolve into Sylveon.
- Head over to this Eeve and edit her name for Kira.
- Save the name changes.
- Close the game and reopen.
This process ensures that the name has been updated on the backyend and everything. When you get back to that Eevee, you should see a mysterious icon that looks like Sylveon to evolve, so go ahead and evolve.
Just make sure this is after 10am as the icon has been popping up for a while to people, but has evolved into another random Eeveelution instead.
Second method to get Sylveon
- Make the Eeve you want to make Sylveon your friend.
- Now you only need to earn 70 Buddy Hearts with that specific Eevee.
- At that point, the evolution icon should change from just a question mark to Sylveon, so go ahead and evolve.
In this method the same rules apply, you must make sure to evolve to Suylveon after 10 am.
With this method there are no guarantees that it will be retroactive to the previous Eevees you have earned Buddy Hearts with, so be sure to check out the Sylveon icon before attempting to evolve if you are trying to use an existing one.
