How the Field Notes: Team Go Rocket works in Pokémon Go

Field Notes: Team Go Rocket are the latest Team Go Rocket quests that first made their appearance in July 2022 at the start of the Battle Weekend Challenge event.

To access this research quest, you must first complete the tutorial quest, A Troubling Situation and have completed all other previous Team Go Rocket quests, such as An Inter-egg-sting Development and The Shadowy Threat Grows.

Don’t worry if you’re way behind the Team Go Rocket lineup, because once you complete your current Rocket quest, you’ll automatically transfer to Team Go Rocket.

Every Team Go Rocket quest revolves around defeating the crime syndicate Team Go Rocket and the purification of Shadow Pokémonwhich you can usually find worldwide at ‘invaded’ PokéStops.

In this quest you also have to compete against Leaders Arlo, Cliff in Sierra and finally against Giovanni.

In addition to specific tasks, Team Go Rocket works exactly the same as all other research quests, which challenge you to complete a certain number of assignments in a specific order.

You have a fair amount of time to complete the Field Notes: Team Go Rocket. Usually these types of quests don’t expire, but you should start before the Ultra Unlock: Battle Weekend event, which ends on Sunday, September 10 at 12:00 PM (local time). It is possible to take advantage of a number of bonuses, which make it easier to complete the above missions.

Tips for Completing Team Go Rocket

Below are tips to help you complete Field Notes: Team Go Rocket in Pokémon Go:

  • Do not forget to Pinap Berries to use if you Shadow Pokémon catches to make sure you’ve collected enough Candy to purify the Pokémon if it’s yours.
  • Before you fight with the three Team Go Rocket Leaders in Giovanni first take a look at the possible line-ups they use, because that way you can put together a team of effective counter Pokémon in advance.
  • Since both the Leaders and Giovanni can have different Pokémon team compositions, it’s a good idea to research their team before you finally beat them – these “test” battles will require you to stock up on some healing items. The best way to tackle that strategy is to use a Pokémon that can defeat their first Pokémon. The first Pokémon is always the same. Once you know their second choice, you can adjust your plan accordingly. Just keep in mind that their lineup may change if you move to a different PokéStop.

  • If you are having trouble achieving three Nice Throws in a row, look for a Pokémon with a large catch radius. Above all, be patient, because it is not easy!
  • Remember you now have a Remote Raid pass can use to join battles from home if you’re having trouble with this raid-specific step.

Good luck completing this Team Go Rocket research quest!
