Trainers:
The “New Pokémon Snap Celebration” event commemorates the launch of New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch on April 30!
In New Pokémon Snap, you will travel to unknown islands to take photos of the Pokémon that live there and create your own Pokémon Photodex. To celebrate the launch of the game, you can enjoy an event in Pokémon GO inspired by this fun method of researching Pokémon ecology through photography!

To celebrate the presentation of New Pokémon Snap On Nintendo Switch, you can enjoy an event inspired by this photographic game and in the Lensis region where it takes place. Pokémon inspired by different habitats in the Lensis region will appear more frequently in the wild and in raids, there will be a new avatar item and sticker, and Shiny Smeargle will make its debut in Pokémon GO.
Characteristics
- Some Pokémon inspired by deserts, jungles, and underwater landscapes of the Lensis region (such as Lotad, Cacnea, and Ducklett) will appear more frequently in the wild.
- Smeargle will appear in snapshots more often than normal! And, with a bit of luck, you might find its shiny version! Keep in mind that Smeargle will only appear in snapshots a certain number of times, and although Shiny Smeargle will no longer appear after the event is over, you could find it in those to come.
- Some Pokémon inspired by the Lensis region (such as Vaporeon, Meganium, and Trapinch) will appear more frequently in raids!
