We live in times of furious news regarding video games. With the Summer Game Fest having already kicked off with surprises like Flashback 2 for Nintendo Switch, everyone is waiting for news in the form of new title announcements. But it is not only there where the present is found. It’s also in Pokémon, which manages to get in the picture even when it doesn’t mean to. Although this time it is not exactly about the company or the titles, but about the designer of Pokémon James Turner. Or rather, ex-designer. Because good old Turner has announced the beginning of a new professional stage.
The new occupation of James Turner, ex-Pokémon designer
It has been the graphic designer himself who has been in charge of giving the news on his Twitter account. His stage in Game Freak has finished, and begins a new journey with a friend with whom he has founded a new studio: All Possible Futures. In the tweet he warned that there would be a trailer for the first project of his new studio very soon, and it was soon confirmed: The Plucky Squire was announced during the Devolver Digital conference.

the graphic designer James Turner has worked as a Pokémon designer for the past 12 years. Through his hand have passed neither more nor less than the last 4 generations of pocket monsters, so he is the one to thank (or criticize, for tastes, colors) for the appearance of some of the creatures. His imprint is especially engraved on Pokémon Sword and Shieldwhere he served as art director for the first time.
