Discovered by @eclipse_tt on Twitter, who shared an image showing that the “Charm” move will be a fairy in the game (originally diamonds and pearls, was the normal type). It should be noted that two of the Pokémon that first appeared in Sinnoh were made in a retro Fairy: Togekiss and Mime Jr. Presumably this means that the change will also be preserved in Shiny Diamonds and Shiny Pearls.

Most Pokémon fans will probably not be surprised to learn that these modified types of Pokémon will be merged Shiny Diamonds and Shiny Pearls. Pokémon remakes often include these types of changes rather than back and forth. It will be interesting to see if the addition of the Fairy-type Pokémon leads to the new Sinnoh region strategies! Fairy-type Pokémon have an advantage over dragon types, but there are no dragon-type academies in Sinnoh. However, a powerful Togekiss or Mr.Mime can be useful against Pokémon League champion Cynthia and Garchomp.
