EHC Winterthur traveled to the Neuchâtel Jura for the third game of the 21/22 season. In La Chaux-de-Fonds, the people of Winterthur experienced ups and downs of emotions. The team finally managed to score goals from the game. A reward is a point against a strong opponent.
1st third:
For the Winterthurer Löwen it was clear that the offensive had to be more compelling today. In preparation, the EHC Winterthur was able to successfully organize the game against the HCC. In goal, head coach relied on the services of Gian-Marco Bamert in goal for the first time. Shortly after the start of the game, the lions were unable to take advantage of their first opportunity to outnumber them. The power play is certainly another factor that needs to be improved. The hosts were granted the opening goal. The Norwegian Olden used the awarded penalty after a foul by Pozzorini. The Winterthur answer was only 15 seconds long. As soon as the center circle was played again, Bozon scored to equalize. A wild start third took its course. The Neuenberger were clearly superior to the game shares. So Andersons managed to take the lead again. Bamert in goal performed well on his Swiss League debut. The Winterthur compensation through Mainot was the reward for continued solidarity work. However, the Eulachstädter’s first boxing game offered cause for trouble again. Carbis was able to shoot in during the break.
2nd third:
After the high-scoring opener, the teams in the middle third did not spoil themselves either. As soon as the whistle kicked off, the target was already wriggling back in the net. Again Bozon was the goalscorer. All the more annoying was the fact that the goal scorer found himself in the penalty box. Box plays seem to be the big Achilles heel of the people of Winterthur at the beginning of the season. Once again, they found themselves behind again afterwards. But the fighting spirit of the EHC Winterthur did not let the team down in this situation either. Valenza was able to equalize just two minutes later. Now the game swayed to and fro. At times the HCC was clearly superior, Winterthur saved itself with a great struggle. Shortly before the second break, Pompei could not use a penalty caused by the ex-Winterthur Ojedemark to lead.
3rd third:
In the final section, the teams took the pace a little out of the game. Apparently the trainers found the right words to stop the wild ride. Winterthur again had the chance to score an overpaid goal, but also in this case without a Reuissite. With the Neuchâtel opening goal, the reward for the hard work seemed to have faded away again. But you couldn’t get past a man tonight. Kevin Bozon with his third goal of the evening secured the team the first point of the season.
Renewal:
The story of the extension is quickly told. After a disc loss by Winterthur, In-Albon was able to go for the Schodfonier alone on the gate of Bamert and defeated the debutant to victory.
