PAP / PAP/Marcin Bielecki / Pogoń defeated Ruch at their own stadium. Pogoń entered the match against Ruch irritated by the last defeat in Poznań against Lech. However, the Blues’ situation in the PKO Ekstraklasa is almost hopeless. The guests entered the match weakened by the absence of six players. Four were suspended for cards, Dante Stipica did not go on the pitch because Ruch did not activate the clause. However, Adam Vlkanova suffered an injury.
The guests tried to move boldly, but were quickly countered. In the 2nd minute, after Linus Wahlqvist’s play from the penalty area, Mateusz Bartolewski slid the ball into his own goal.
The second goal should have been scored a few dozen seconds later. Efthymis Koulouris deceived the defender, his shot from about 15 meters went just past the post.
The movement was looking for its moment, but the guests lacked offensive quality. In the 8th minute, the goalkeeper made a mistake after a free kick, and then Daniel Szczepan shot it past the post from 16 meters.
The Blues couldn’t do much offensively. The port workers were waiting for their moment. They got it in the 35th minute. Kamil Grosicki took a corner kick to the front, and Adrian Przyborek shot a great lob from the corner of the goal area over Michał Buchalik.

A moment later, Ruch’s defense behaved reprehensibly. Valentin Cojocaru launched Kolouris with a long clearance, who passed the goalkeeper and scored a goal. At the time of the pass, the sniper was just behind the halfway line, slightly offside. What the defense was doing during this time will remain a mystery. Ultimately, the goal was disallowed.
The visitors struggled to make contact. Moments before the break, Szymon Szymański caught the ball in the penalty area. Cojocaru parried the corner kick.
In the second part of the game, the Port team quickly closed the match. In the 47th minute, Vahan Bichakhchyan crossed from the right side, and Koulouris scored from five meters to make it 3-0. Another goal lost completely devastated the guests. The players from Szczecin dominated and played very loosely, looking for more goals.
In the 54th minute, the visitors’ defense failed again. Linus Wahlqvist played to the twelfth meter, and Koulouris hit the goal with a strong shot. The ball bounced off Stępiński, but it still flew into the goal.
This wasn’t the end. Five minutes passed and it was 5-0. Leonardo Koutris crossed from the left and Koulouris headed the ball into the goal. Ruch’s defense was once again tragic.
Only after the changes, the Chorzów team started attacking and could save their honor. In the 63rd minute, Bartłomiej Barański’s shot was deflected by the goalkeeper, and Filip Wilak’s correction was off target. The Port team responded with Ulvestad’s missed shot. A few minutes later, Patryk Paryzek missed the goal in an excellent situation. In the 74th minute, Marcel Wędrychowski scored.
The move did not entirely surprise Cojocaru, and Pogoń did not score goal number six. The Blues are getting closer to relegation, while Pogoń can still fight for a medal in the league. And maybe something more.
