The former head of the chancellery and still a board member for the railways, Ronald Pofalla, will become managing director of the Gröner Group, a real estate development company in Berlin, from May.
“Together with the previous managing directors Christoph Gröner and Lars Schnidrig, Ronald Pofalla will push ahead with the conversion of the company into a stock corporation,” the company announced.
The 62-year-old Pofalla has been on the board of directors for around seven years and heads the infrastructure department there. In March he had announced that he wanted to leave the group at the end of April.
According to its own statements, the Gröner Group is currently developing around 80 real estate projects in Germany via various subsidiaries. The focus is on affordable housing and sustainable construction.
