Peter Pannekoek, René van Meurs and duo Yentl and de Boer have won a Poelifinario as part of the VSCD Cabaret Awards. The winners were announced on Monday evening during the Cabaret Gala in The Hague, where n00b won the Neerlands Hoop 2023 encouragement prize.
“Few comedians work as hard as Pannekoek on their performance and it shines through on all sides,” the jury wrote about Pannekoek, who won the Poelifinario 2023 in the Engagement category with DNA.
“Big themes, original perspectives, daring conferences, diverse humor: he challenges himself with every performance and never takes the easy way. There is no shortage of sharpness, courage and well-thought-out phrases.”
René van Meurs won with 2636 in the Entertainment category and is praised for his “balanced program” in which there is room “for countless comic anecdotes that are recognizable among contemporaries”. “But also for the realization that fatherhood is a turning point in life, which should not be taken lightly.”
Yentl and de Boer, who with Loaches won in the Kleinkunst category, according to the jury “provide a sensual theater concert, in which the number of beautiful songs is so large that it is hardly possible to identify a favorite”.
Isabelle Kafando and Laura Bakker of n00b “came, saw and overwhelmed the theaters and their audiences with a whirlwind of sketches,” reports the jury of the cabaret prizes, which have been awarded since 2003. Previous winners include Marc-Marie Huijbregts, Theo Maassen, Claudia de Breij, Wim Helsen and Erik van Muiswinkel.
