The long-time national player Lukas Podolski did the former national coach Joachim Löw Once again wishing all the best on social media – the 36-year-old couldn’t resist a humorous swipe.

“Dear Jogi, it was an honor to say goodbye personally – just like you did with me and many of our world champions before,” wrote Podolski, who is now active in the Polish league with Gornik Zabrze, on Instagram. “Thank you for EVERYTHING and especially for 2014 and all the best for the future.”

The 130-time national player added: “PS: Now you also have more time for our nation’s hobby: scratching eggs”. Two laughing emojis and a picture of Löw and Podolski laughing before the international match against Liechtenstein (9-0) in Wolfsburg on Thursday round off the farewell post.

The background to this saying is a scene at the 2016 European Championships in France.
