Former German football representative Lukas Podolski has signed a one-year contract with Polish first league player Gornik Zabrze.
“I’m looking forward to being at home and playing in this stadium,” dpa said the 36-year-old striker.
Podolski was born in Gliwice, which is in the neighborhood of Zabrze. “We’ve known each other for a long time and we’ll see what happens next in a year,” said the president of the club Dariusz Czernik. Neither party disclosed the financial details of the contract.
The 2014 world champion wore the jersey of the Turkish Antalya last season, where his contract expired on July 1. Zabrze is the eighth stop in the professional career of the 130-time national team.
