Podcast “Murder Talks”: 3056 meters – The death of Theresa Stahl

A young woman is hit by a car in April 2017 and dies. The driver has more than three parts per thousand alcohol in his blood. But was the 18-year-old really behind the wheel? In 2019, the court has to deal with, among other things, rumors that have persisted. On the True Crime Podcast “Mordsgesprche” Let’s talk to reporter chief Benjamin Stahl about a case that he has followed closely for years. His research led him to the scene of the accident in Untereisenheim in the Wrzburg district, to Theresa’s father’s workshop and to two trials in the courtroom.

When the police began investigating in 2017, it quickly became clear that reconstructing the night of the accident would not be easy. Rumors and false statements prolong the investigation. Public interest in the case grows and when Niclas H., the driver of the car, is declared not guilty in a first court hearing because of his high blood alcohol level, quite a few consider the verdict to be inappropriate. The focus of the discussion is the question of what is to be punished: drunkenness or killing a person?

The case takes a new turn when, shortly after the appeals process begins, unexpected testimony sparks a murder investigation – was Theresa run over on purpose? What really happened on the night of April 22-23, 2017? In the current episode, conversation partner Benjamin Stahl puts together information and details from four years of investigative work, countless conversations and two court cases.

With the twentieth episode of “Mordsgestsche”, the Main-Post true crime podcast, the end of the season has been reached. Information about the start of the third season in a few weeks will follow on mainpost.de and on the official one Instagram channel of “murder talks”.
