Don’t be afraid of instruments! Successful design of music groups

Why do children and young people take part in school music programs or not? Why do they stick around with interest and motivation or not? This is what the new podcast episode of “Cultural Education in Conversation” is about.

In an interview with the scientist Prof. Valerie Krupp and the music teacher Petra Schostak, the moderator Prasanna Oommen looks at a range of reasons: from personal motivation to aspects of school equipment to questions of participation and diversity.

The starting point of the discussion is the research project “Music and Personality. Conditions and effects of musical educational offers in schools ”from the“ Research Fund for Cultural Education ”, funded by the Mercator Foundation. Recommendations for action for schools will be derived from the results, which will be available in 2022.
