It is May 9, the day that Russia celebrates the so-called Victory Day. That is the day the Soviet Union and the Allies defeated Nazi Germany 77 years ago. And also a day when the military strength and successes of the Russian army are displayed and claimed during a major military parade in Moscow.
What it is not about are the major losses that the Russian army is currently suffering in Ukraine. And those losses are considerable, Colonel Han Bouwmeester explains in podcast De Dag.
