Suara.com – Poco is known as a brand that is a subsidiary Xiaomi by the Indonesian people. But now they claim to be an independent part of Xiaomi Indonesia.
Country Director Xiaomi Indonesia Alvin Tse explained, the difference between these two brands has been shown on the appearance of the Poco and Xiaomi websites. If you pay attention, the two websites do have very different views.
“So it’s not a rumor, because it is already independent,” he said in a virtual press conference ahead of the launch Poco X3 Pro on Tuesday (20/4/2021).
Alvin explained that Poco and Xiaomi had to be independent. This is because both brands have their respective market needs. Xiaomi, said Alvin, will focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) brand, not only selling smartphone products.

“The IoT market is bigger. Then for cellphones, as a whole, Xiaomi needs a balanced product. So all specifications are flat,” he said.
Meanwhile, for Poco, Alvin said that the brand is intended for users who are happy with performance. For example, they are preparing to present the Poco X3 Pro in Indonesia, which has qualified specifications for cellphones in its class.
“The target audience is also different between Xiaomi and Poco. Poco is enthusiastic about performance. That’s why we always promise extreme performance and extreme price,” said Alvin.
On the other hand, Poco Global has officially declared its separation from Xiaomi. For two years being raised by Xiaomi, Poco was finally officially independent in October 2020 yesterday.
“Poco Global has ushered in a new era as an independent brand. This milestone will be realized with the support of our global community,” wrote Poco on his Twitter account.
