Xiaomi brand POCO has announced the gaming smartphone F4 GT. Where its predecessor the F3 GT still had a MediaTek soc, the F4 GT gets a Qualcomms Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 soc. Furthermore, the new soc can charge faster, but the battery is slightly smaller.
The F4 GT will get Lpddr5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage in addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-soc. The phone comes in models with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage, or 12GB of memory and twice as much storage. Like de F3 GT will the new gaming smartphone get a vapour chamber for liquid cooling, although that chamber is smaller with the new model. With the old model POCO talks about 11.540mm², with the F4 GT it is a double chamber of 4860mm².
The screen has remained unchanged. It is still a 6.67″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. touch sampling rate still up to 480Hz. The brightness is up to 800cd/m². The screen has a Gorilla Glass Victus screen layer.
Like the F3 GT, the smartphone has magnetic bumper triggers. The battery and charging speed have been changed. The battery is now 4700mAh, where that of the predecessor was 5065mAh. The charging speed has almost doubled with 120W. In the box is a 120W charger.
The rear cameras have remained unchanged with a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and 2-megapixel macro camera. With a 20-megapixel sensor, the selfie camera has 4 megapixels more than the predecessor. The POCO F4 GT also gets Android 12, four speakers and a fingerprint scanner on the side.
The smartphone measures 162.5×76.7×8.5mm and is available in silver and black for 599 euros. The model with more memory and storage costs 699 euros.
