SD Ibiza has reached an agreement with Maurizio Pochettino (Barcelona, 30-03-2001), information released exclusively by Newspaper of Ibiza and Formentera. He is the son of Mauricio Pochettino, former coach of Chelsea, PSG and Tottenham and former player of Espanyol, among other teams. Pochettino Jr. is a right-winger who arrives on a free transfer after finishing his contract with Nàstic de Tarragona.
He spent two seasons with the Catalan club, although he did not get many opportunities. In his first year he played in 14 matches and last season in just six. In fact, from matchday 15 onwards he played from the bench in all the matches without being given any more minutes. He had previously played for Watford and Tottenham’s under-23 teams. In addition, he also spent his youth years with the Londoners, coinciding with his father’s years as first team coach.
Pochettino is moving down a division in search of the minutes he didn’t have in Primera RFEF and hoping to relaunch his career. With his arrival, a priori, the chapter of transfers for SD Ibiza is closed, which will start the season this Sunday at home against Lleida.
