Migrants of Pueblan origin participated in New York, USAin the different activities and ceremonies commemorating the 160th Anniversary of the Battle of May 5, 1862 in which the Mexican Army defeated the French.

Ricardo Andrade Cerezo, president of the Pies Secos Foundation, a non-governmental organization that provides support to migrants, stressed that In the United States, May 5 became not only the day of Mexico, but also one of the values shared with the Hispanic and Latin American communities.

“We come as every year to present our respect and honors to the memory of the historic deed of Puebla, led by General Anaya. We did it in the company of community leaders, Mexican-American students and the authorities of Passaic, New Jersey and the government of Puebla”, reported Islas López.
