REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TANGERANG — The Tangerang City Health Service urges the public not to panic regarding mycoplasma cases pneumonia and recommend vaccination. Vaccinations that can be carried out include vaccinations for influenza, Covid-19, and also for other respiratory disease pathogens.
“The people of Tangerang City should remain calm and not panic. They can carry out vaccination steps and adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle,” said Head of the Tangerang City Health Service, Dr. Dini Anggraeni in Tangerang on Tuesday (5/12/2023).
Apart from that, people are also encouraged to use it masker properly and keep your distance. Then, self-isolate and visit the nearest health service facility for an examination if you experience symptoms such as difficulty breathing accompanied by fever.
“Immediately come to the nearest health facility if you experience symptoms of difficulty breathing so that the cause can be ascertained and treated immediately,” he said.
Apart from that, Dr. Dini also appealed to the people of Tangerang City to continue implementing a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) and supplement with sufficient exercise as needed so that they can stay healthy and avoid various diseases. People are also considered to need to consume balanced nutritious food, exercise sufficiently according to their needs, consume vitamins according to recommendations and their individual needs.
“PHBS is also an effort so that we can stay healthy and fit. Hopefully, this pneumonia disease will not reach Indonesia, especially Tangerang City,” he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) stated that it had prepared a laboratory network for the purpose of diagnosing symptoms of mycoplasma pneumonia that occurred in Indonesia. “We get ready laboratory network so that they can be tested,” said Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
Budi said that mycoplasma pneumonia or atypical bacteria that cause lung infections is not a new type of disease. However, the level of spread of the disease in society had not been measured for a long time, he said.
For this reason, the Ministry of Health is trying to equip the network of mycoplasma pneumonia detection laboratories with chemical reagents or reagents as a tool for early detection of mycoplasma pneumonia symptoms. The Ministry of Health has carried out a number of mitigation efforts to anticipate the spread of mycoplasma pneumonia in Indonesia, one of which is by issuing Circular Letter No. PM.03.01/C/4732/2023 concerning awareness of the incidence of mycoplasma pneumonia in Indonesia.
