Security agents have deployed a strong device in the facilities of the José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium to threaten the security guards of opposition parties who denounce irregularities in the final legislative scrutiny, as reported by the opposition parties on Thursday night.
The National Civil Police (PNC) prohibited them from documenting the scrutiny process and otherwise they could be arrested. This happened when the counting tables were counting the votes for the department of La Libertad, which has 7 seats.
“In the La Libertad count, our vigilantes have been threatened with being arrested by PNC agents if they take photos or video of the counting process. Furthermore, the entire room has been surrounded by police officers,” denounced the president of Nuestro Tiempo, Andy Failer.
The general secretary of VAMOS, Cesia Rivas, also reported threats from the FGR and the director-owner of JVE, Geovanny González, from Nuevas Ideas, who asked the PNC to enter the scrutiny room “only because they do not want them to take out the phones.” and the anomalies are recorded.
In this regard, the judge of the Supreme Electoral Court, Julio Olivo, in an interview for Radio YSKL, said that on Thursday night there was “a kind of police incursion.”
“Still last night (Thursday), around 11 or 12 at night, I asked the president (Dora Esmeralda Martínez) for explanations, because that is not a decision of the collegiate body, it seems to me that it is a wrong decision again. ”, Olivo commented; However, he did not say the president’s response, but justified that the president of the TSE is in charge of the security plan.
“I must say that it is not the responsibility of the National Civil Police itself, but rather, of some authority, which sometimes takes the responsibility at a particular level to decide things without the collegiate body having authorized it,” added the official.
